This print is plate 16 from the first volume of 'Travels in the Interior of North America', a publication documenting the 1832-1834 expedition led by Prince Maximilian of Wied-Neuwied. Karl Bodmer, a Swiss painter, accompanied the expedition to record the geography, flora, fauna, and indigenous cultures of the American West.
