This copperplate engraving by Theodor de Bry depicts a Weroan, or a chief, of the indigenous peoples of Virginia. The work was produced for the 1590 publication of Thomas Hariot's 'A Briefe and True Report of the New Found Land of Virginia'. De Bry based his engravings on the original watercolour sketches created by John White during the 1585 expedition to Roanoke.

The composition presents two figures of a Weroan, shown from the front and the back to provide a comprehensive view of his attire, weaponry, and physical appearance. The figures hold longbows and carry quivers, while the background features smaller figures engaged in hunting activities. The style reflects the European artistic conventions of the late sixteenth century, particularly in the muscular definition of the figures and the structured approach to the surrounding environment.
