This woodblock print by Ippitsusai Bunchō depicts the kabuki actor Ichikawa Benzō in the role of Danzaburō. Produced during the mid-Edo period, the work belongs to the yakusha-e genre, which focuses on the portrayal of popular stage performers. Bunchō was a significant figure in the development of the actor print, known for his ability to capture the specific facial features and mannerisms of his subjects rather than relying on generic character types.

His costume consists of a layered kimono with distinct patterns, including a wave-like motif along the sleeves and a floral design on the lower hem.
