As a member of the group known as the Little Masters, Beham produced small-scale prints that demonstrate technical precision and a mastery of the burin. The composition features an angel, positioned on the left, wielding a sword to usher the figures out of the divine realm. Adam and Eve are shown in motion, their bodies rendered with anatomical focus typical of the period. The background is minimal, relying on cloud-like forms to suggest the celestial boundary between Paradise and the mortal world.

Beham employs fine hatching and cross-hatching to create volume and shadow across the figures. The inclusion of a small cherubic head in the lower right corner adds a secondary narrative element, observing the departure. The artist's monogram, ISB, is clearly visible in the lower left, alongside the date. This work reflects the interest in biblical themes that occupied many German printmakers during the sixteenth century.
