This work is a predella panel, a small painting forming the lower section of a larger altarpiece. The scene depicts the Adoration of the Magi, with the Holy Family positioned beneath a simple wooden structure on the right, while the retinue of the three kings approaches from the left.

Perugino organises the figures across a wide, horizontal plane. The architecture of the shed provides a frame for the central interaction, while the background reveals a characteristic Perugino landscape: rolling hills, distant mountains, and slender trees set against a pale, atmospheric sky. The figures exhibit the graceful, somewhat elongated proportions and serene expressions that defined his style. Technically, the painting reflects the transition towards the High Renaissance, where the focus shifted to harmonious proportions and a sense of calm order.
