Description
Kintaro's red-sleeved hand opens at the waterline as the giant carp slips away, its back and tail carried into a closing field of current.
The encounter ends when Kintaro lets the carp go. Only the red-sleeved hand, the fish's patterned back and one departing tail remain in the close water-level view, so the animal owns the final movement. The stream closes over the meeting without turning release into defeat.
This contemporary interpretation returns to warm paper, restrained indigo and a single vermilion accent after the force of the grapple. Its open crop gives the print a quiet, legible shape and lets the carp leave the frame rather than sit inside it as a trophy. It is the fourth print in the four-scene story, where strength resolves as release.
