Pease Sands follows a long curve of gold shore beneath dark headlands, where low tide leaves broad wet sand shining under a warm, cloud-streaked evening sky.
A wide strand of sand curves beneath a dark, layered headland, with small rock outcrops breaking the shallow edge of the sea. At Pease Sands, low water leaves pale reflective channels across the beach and draws the eye towards the distant coast. The foreground cliff is picked out in deep brown and violet, edged with grasses and low flowering plants beneath peach-coloured cloud.
For visitors, the scene suggests the unhurried stretch of beach revealed as the tide falls, with room to trace the waterline towards the headland. Those familiar with Pease Sands may recognise the long open shore, the enclosing cliff and the change in colour across sand, rock and sea at the close of day.
