Ski-Allenheads is framed by a tall stone viaduct, its repeated arches spanning a wooded valley above a winding stream and soft, patterned upland hills.
Five broad arches carry the viaduct across the scene, their pale stone warmed by low light and set against dark woodland. Below, the stream bends through the valley floor, while scrubby banks, mature trees and layered hills provide a quiet green counterpoint to the engineering.
Ski-Allenheads invites a slower look at the North Pennine landscape, where infrastructure and open country share the same view. The setting suits a gentle valley walk or a longer exploration of nearby roads and trails, with the changing height of the hills giving each turn a different perspective.
