Above, the figure of God the Father appears within a celestial sphere, while the Holy Spirit descends in the form of a dove. The composition is notable for its integration of figures into a naturalistic setting, featuring dense foliage and distant rocky outcrops that suggest a deep, atmospheric space.

The side panels feature the donor and his family. On the left, Jan Des Trompes kneels in prayer, accompanied by his son and his patron saint, John the Evangelist. The right panel shows his first wife, Elisabeth van der Meersch, with their four daughters and her patron saint, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. The inclusion of these figures reflects the devotional practices of the time, where patrons sought to secure their place within the religious narrative.
