This etching by the Dutch artist Abraham Delfos presents a classical allegorical scene featuring Minerva, the Roman goddess of wisdom and strategic warfare. Seated in a garden setting, she is depicted as the protector of the arts. Her presence is marked by her traditional attributes: the plumed helmet, the spear, and the shield. Beside her, a small putto interacts with her, while another pair of putti holds a cartouche bearing a monogram, suggesting a commission or a dedication to a specific patron.
