Description
Alyn Gorge is pictured as a rushing rocky channel beneath an iron arch bridge, where wooded slopes and warm stone abutments enclose the water.
Steel latticework spans high across the scene on broad squared masonry piers. Under its curved arch, a stream threads between large brown boulders before dropping in a low white cascade. Dark crags press in at either side, softened by deciduous trees in olive, gold and deep green.
The view gives Alyn Gorge the feel of a route discovered on foot, with the bridge opening the sky above the confined watercourse. It will speak to visitors drawn to the gorge's woodland walks and to people nearby who know the contrast between the valley's old engineering and its persistent running water.
