Jules Ferdinand Jacquemart was a master of the etching medium, recognised for his ability to replicate the textures of metal, stone, and glass with extreme precision. This work depicts a selection of items from the Campana collection, a vast assembly of antiquities gathered by the Italian marchese Giampietro Campana. The collection was eventually dispersed, with many pieces entering the holdings of the Louvre and the Hermitage Museum.
