Description
Balintore looks out from a row of white cottages and a sturdy harbour wall, where the blue sea meets a broad sweep of sunlit sand.
Tall dune grasses lean over the near bank, casting deep blue shadows across the beach. A small red door interrupts the slate-roofed terrace, and repeated chimney pots give the waterfront a regular rhythm. Across the bay, pale cliffs cut into a low green headland, while thin cloud bands stretch through the clear sky above the open water.
Balintore's shore is shaped by the close relationship between its village edge and the Moray Firth. Visitors can recognise the beach opening beside the built waterfront, while residents may know how the wall, cottages and distant coast keep the sea at the centre of everyday routes through the village.
