Fairlight Glen follows white cliffs above a narrow beach, where turquoise water and a descending path give the East Sussex coast a bright, salt-air openness.
From the high track at Fairlight Glen, a timber handrail leads through low scrub and small wildflowers towards pale rock faces. Dark shelves meet the shore below, while thin foam lines trace the water's edge and a distant headland recedes beneath towering cream clouds. The view moves from the sheltered path into a broad sweep of sea and sky.
For walkers who know this part of the coast, the image catches the pause before the route drops towards the shore. It keeps the climb, the weather and the changing edge of the Channel close together, ending with the long headland fading into blue water.
