Kunisada, also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III, was a prolific designer of ukiyo-e prints. His work often explored the lives of commoners, actors, and seasonal customs. The background features stylised clouds, a common convention in Japanese printmaking to suggest atmosphere without providing a specific location.
