This engraving by the Dutch printmaker Pieter Tanjé, dated 1734, depicts the Roman goddess Flora surrounded by a retinue of putti. The composition is based on an original work by the Italian painter Parmigianino. Tanjé demonstrates his technical proficiency through the use of varied hatching and stippling techniques to render the soft, voluminous clouds and the delicate textures of the figures' skin.

Flora is positioned centrally, seated amidst clouds, while putti offer her garlands of flowers. A single putto descends from above, holding a wreath, which adds a sense of vertical movement to the scene. The lighting is managed through subtle gradations of tone, creating a soft, ethereal atmosphere typical of the Rococo period. The engraving captures the grace and fluidity associated with Parmigianino's style, translated into the precise medium of copperplate engraving.

Pieter Tanjé was active in Amsterdam and gained recognition for his ability to reproduce the works of earlier masters.
