Description
Gribun Rocks commands the sea as jagged stacks rise from turquoise water, framed by foaming channels, grassy slopes and a pale island horizon beyond.
The tallest crag has sharp vertical faces, with dark clefts and narrow green ledges climbing towards its pointed top. Smaller pinnacles gather at its base, separated by white surf and deep blue pools. In the foreground, angular shore rocks descend from the headland, while long brushstrokes of cloud stretch across the bright sky.
Gribun Rocks gives visitors to Mull a strong coastal marker, where the changing tide makes the shore feel active even from above. For residents and returning walkers, the contrast of exposed stone, salt water and distant land can bring back the particular route along this part of the island's western edge.
