This woodblock print by Utagawa Yoshitora, dating to approximately 1861, belongs to the Yokohama-e genre. These works emerged during the late Edo period following the opening of Japanese ports to international trade. The print captures the curiosity of the Japanese public regarding the appearance, customs, and attire of foreign visitors.
