Description
Porthlysgi Bay opens from a rugged sea stack to clear turquoise water, where pale coves and dark headlands make the Pembrokeshire coast feel close and expansive.
A sweep of pale sand follows the foot of successive cliffs, each headland stepping back in blue-grey layers towards the horizon. Purple flowering growth covers the near slope, and white surf marks the edge of transparent shallows around scattered dark rocks.
Porthlysgi Bay holds the changing scale of a coastal walk, from close vegetation to open sea. Visitors who know this corner of Pembrokeshire may recognise the way the coves appear between the cliffs, with the solitary rock standing firmly against the moving water. Its steep profile gives the bay a memorable coastal marker.
