This work belongs to the series The Six Immortal Poets in Modern Dress, a project that reimagines classical literary figures within the contemporary social context of the Yoshiwara pleasure district.

The composition focuses on the upper torso and head of the subject, who is shown in a three-quarter profile. Her hair is styled in an elaborate fashion, adorned with numerous hairpins, which signals her status and profession.
