Her attire includes a red headpiece decorated with small gold bows and a string of pearls. A notable detail is the pendant hanging from her gold chain, which features a horn-shaped charm, a common protective amulet of the period. Her left hand rests near a small, dark animal, often identified as a marten or weasel, which was a fashionable accessory for noblewomen at the time.

The background contains a curious element: a crescent moon in the upper left corner. Within the moon, the letters 'CI' are visible, which scholars have interpreted as a rebus for the sitter's name, 'Lucina'. This inclusion of symbolic or cryptic imagery is characteristic of Lotto's approach to portraiture, where he often integrated personal references or psychological depth beyond mere physical likeness.
