Ivan Kramskoy painted this portrait of Pavel Tretyakov in 1876. Tretyakov was a merchant, art collector, and the founder of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. Kramskoy, a leader of the Peredvizhniki movement, focused on psychological realism in his portraiture.
