Konstantin Bogaevsky is recognised for his distinct approach to the Crimean coastline, a subject he returned to throughout his career. This graphite study captures the rugged topography of the region, where jagged rock formations meet the calm expanse of the sea. Bogaevsky often infused his depictions of nature with a sense of historical weight, drawing upon classical and Mediterranean influences to construct scenes that feel removed from contemporary time.
