Description
Rosedale Moor looks across a wide heathered slope, where pale foreground boulders, a dark cliff edge and a silver stream give the moorland a spacious, weathered presence.
Large rounded stones occupy the near ground among purple heath and small tufts of grass. To the left, a dark horizontal escarpment breaks the slope before the land drops into a broad valley. A narrow bright stream winds through the patchwork below, carrying the eye towards soft blue hills under layered grey and cream clouds.
Rosedale Moor gathers open ground, rock and running water into a view that feels made for a long pause on the high moor. People who know Rosedale Moor may recognise the way the valley appears gradually beneath the heather, with the pale stones and distant ridges holding the scene in balance.
