Abraham Rademaker was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver known for his extensive documentation of the architecture and topography of the Netherlands. This work depicts the Castle of Schagen, a structure that held historical importance in the North Holland region. Rademaker utilised a combination of ink lines and monochromatic wash to define the form of the castle, which is surrounded by a moat and accessed via a stone bridge.
