This engraving by Johann Sadeler I depicts the three goddesses central to the myth of the Judgement of Paris: Juno, Venus, and Pallas Athena. The composition presents the figures in a tight, bust-length arrangement, focusing on their distinct attributes and expressions. Juno, positioned on the left, wears a crown and pearls, her profile turned towards the central figure. Venus occupies the centre, her gaze directed outward, while Pallas Athena, on the right, is identified by her plumed helmet and martial attire. The work is based on a design by the painter Jan van Aachen, as indicated by the inscription 'Ioan. ab Ach invet.' at the base.

Sadeler, a member of a prominent family of engravers from Brussels, demonstrates the technical precision characteristic of late sixteenth-century Flemish printmaking. The use of cross-hatching and varied line weights creates a sense of volume and texture, particularly in the rendering of the drapery, metallic surfaces of the armour, and the soft modelling of the skin.
