This engraving by Johann Theodor de Bry depicts the traditional Christian iconography of the Last Judgment. The composition is divided into two distinct registers: the celestial realm above and the terrestrial sphere below. In the upper portion, Christ sits in judgment, surrounded by clouds and flanked by figures holding tablets of the law, which serve as references to biblical scripture. Angels with trumpets herald the event, creating a sense of movement and divine authority.

The lower register shows the resurrection of the dead. Figures emerge from the earth, their bodies rendered with the anatomical focus characteristic of the period. To the right, a demonic figure oversees the damned, while on the left, an angel assists the righteous.
