The scene focuses on the moment of judgment, where the two elders are subjected to the punishment they sought to inflict upon Susanna. Aldegrever, a member of the group known as the Little Masters, demonstrates his technical mastery through the precise application of burin to copper. The composition is structured around a central column to which the figures are bound, creating a clear vertical axis that organises the surrounding crowd.

The artist employs a sophisticated system of hatching and cross-hatching to define the musculature of the figures and the architectural elements of the setting. His approach to light and shadow provides a sense of volume, while the expressions of the figures convey the gravity of the narrative. The clothing reflects the fashion of the mid-sixteenth century, a common practice among Northern Renaissance printmakers who often updated biblical scenes with contemporary attire.
