Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, a Lithuanian composer and painter, occupies a unique position in early twentieth-century European art. His work often bridges the gap between visual representation and musical structure. In 'Thoughts' (1907), the artist employs a delicate pastel technique to explore themes of transcendence and the ethereal nature of human consciousness. The composition is divided into two distinct realms: the terrestrial and the celestial.
