Theo Colenbrander was a Dutch architect and designer who gained recognition for his unconventional approach to ceramics. Working primarily with the Rozenburg factory in The Hague, he developed a distinct visual language that departed from the rigid historicism of his contemporaries. His work is characterised by fluid, organic forms and a highly personal application of colour.

This collection of vessels displays the characteristic aesthetic of Colenbrander, where the surface decoration is not merely applied but integrated into the structural form of the object.
