Description
A curving dry-stone wall crosses heather at Urra beneath a glowing moorland plateau at sunset, setting a warm, far-reaching view over the North York Moors.
Large weathered rocks fill the lower slope, surrounded by low purple scrub and yellow grass. The wall turns away in a long arc towards patchwork fields below, while a broad flat-topped escarpment holds the horizon under bands of late sunlight at Urra.
Urra sits high on the North York Moors, where old boundaries remain part of the walking routes across open ground. This scene may speak to those who have crossed the moor at dusk, when stonework catches the low light above the valleys and fields spread far below there.
