Roman Cotosman was a founding member of the 111 Group in Timișoara during the late 1960s. Cotosman eventually left Romania for Philadelphia and later Paris, where he refined his focus on geometric structures. His transition from the restrictive environment of the Eastern Bloc to the Western art scene allowed him to experiment with materials like plexiglass and cardboard.
