Discover API & Data Terms
Rules for using Solis Prints Discover datasets and API.
Discover city datasets and the Discover API are public, read-only resources for art-history research, teaching, editorial work, trip planning, and compatible applications. These terms describe what you may reuse and what you should not infer from the data.
Licence and attribution
The dataset rows we publish at /data/{city}.csv, /data/{city}.json, and through /api/v1/cities/{city}/holdings are available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International.
If you reuse the data, attribute it as Solis Prints Discover Dataset and link to the relevant city guide or dataset URL.
Images are separate
Image URLs, where present, are not relicensed by Solis Prints. They are exposed only when our source terms allow reference or reuse, but you must follow the original image provider's licence and attribution requirements.
Current display caveat
Museum and artwork rows describe recorded associations unless a row explicitly says current display has been confirmed. Collection displays change, works go on loan, and galleries close for conservation. Use museum links for final visit planning.
Rate limits and fair use
The public holdings API is rate-limited. Production defaults are 120 holdings requests per minute per client and 60 dataset-download requests per minute per client. We may lower, raise, throttle, or block traffic that threatens service reliability.
Do not bypass rate limits, aggressively scrape unsupported endpoints, misrepresent Solis Prints endorsement, or bulk mirror the dataset without attribution.
What is public
Public exports include city, museum, artist, artwork, relationship labels, source references, verification status, and last verification dates. They do not include internal scores, raw review notes, private evidence queues, customer/order data, credentials, or private operational logs.
Privacy and logs
Discover API logs are operational. We record route, slug, status code, response time, storage source, and Cloudflare colo. We do not intentionally log visitor IP addresses, cookies, user agents, or full query strings in the application layer.
Corrections
If you find an error, email editorial@solisprints.co.uk with the affected page, row, or source URL. See Corrections for the public correction process.
