Description
Aberdare, South Wales, is shown with a black steam locomotive rounding the tracks beneath a tall arched viaduct. Terracotta roofs and clustered valley houses sit below layered green hills, locating the railway in the Welsh valleys.
A black steam engine rounds the foreground rails with brown wagons following close behind. A pale viaduct crosses the valley on repeated high arches, while terraced homes and red roofs gather beneath the hills. Sage, olive and cream keep the scene softly weathered, with rust accents on roofs and freight wagons. The broad track curve clearly pulls the eye from the locomotive into the town.
Anyone with family ties to Aberdare will recognise the valley railway threaded through its houses. The curving train, stone viaduct and dense valley town stay in view.
