Description
A timber footbridge crosses Highland’s Black Rock Gorge above a narrow cleft, with mossy rock walls, slender woodland trunks and golden foliage drawing the eye into the shaded ravine.
Wooden footbridges cross the deep, narrow ravine of Black Rock Gorge in the Scottish Highlands. The gorge extends for around one and a half kilometres and reaches about forty metres in depth. In places, the gap between its sides is only a few metres.
The bridge runs across the upper middle of the scene, its simple rails standing against pale green woodland. Beneath it, dark rock walls descend into shadow. Moss and grass cover the near ledges, while a fine sapling holds copper leaves above the cleft. Broadleaf branches on the left contrast with the dense conifer on the opposite bank.
