A seated woman, positioned centrally, holds a small puppet or object, while a standing figure to the left holds a chrysanthemum stem. A third figure, positioned behind a low wooden stand, observes the interaction with a contemplative expression. The artist employs a restrained palette, utilising soft pinks, muted ochres, and charcoal tones to define the garments and the figures' features.
Utamaro II, a successor to the famous Kitagawa Utamaro, maintained the stylistic conventions of the Ukiyo-e tradition.
