Description
Cockermouth in Cumbria follows a blue river between colourful houses and leafy banks, with a small bridge, soft green hills and a bright sweep of summer cloud.
The River Cocker runs north through this Cumbrian town, passing close to the built centre. Along its channel, riverside houses and paths sit beside the flowing water, while trees soften the banks and connect the streets with the surrounding green landscape.
At Cockermouth, cream, yellow and blue houses line the left side of the river. A brick wall curves beside their paved waterside walk, opposite a thick mass of green trees. A small arch bridge closes the distant channel. White flower heads and pale rocks edge the nearer water, beneath softly rolling hills in clear summer daylight.
