Description
White water spills between purple rocks at Eas Chia-aig Falls, with a dark pool below the lower cascade and green woodland set against a glowing amber sky.
Near Achnacarry, the falls lie close to the eastern end of Loch Arkaig in the Scottish Highlands. Water descends into the river beside an established starting point for walks into the Arkaig Hills, linking this small wooded hollow with the surrounding upland country.
At Eas Chia-aig Falls, two separate drops interrupt the dark rock. A narrow upper stream opens into a wider sheet below, spreading pale gold reflections across the pool. Trees crowd both banks, their greens deepening beside violet shadows. Overhead, an orange sky lends warmth to the cool stone and restless water.
