Description
Wetherby’s stone bridge spans the River Wharfe at dusk, with amber lamps reflected on the broad water beneath blue festoon strings and a rose-coloured sky.
Rose and peach cloud bands cross the cool blue evening sky above a dark line of trees. Beyond the parapet, pale stone houses rise on the far bank, while flowering plants gather at both lower corners.
Broad stone piers support the arches, and the parapet extends across the crossing above the Wharfe. Amber lamps sit at intervals along the bridge; their glow forms long streaks on the water. Blue festoon strings follow the bridge line against the dusk. Smaller buildings and trees remain beyond, placing the crossing in Wetherby’s riverside townscape in the City and Borough of Leeds.
