His designs became more symbolic, reflecting his belief in a hidden order within nature. Despite facing financial struggles throughout his life, Van Hoytema remained committed to his artistic vision, producing a body of work that continues to enchant and inspire.
Though he died in relative obscurity in 1917, Theo van Hoytema's legacy has experienced a well-deserved revival. His prints, particularly those featuring storks, owls, and other birds, are now highly sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts.
