Description
The arrow travels through the open distance between Yoichi in the surf and the Taira boat, with sea and sky becoming the scale of the feat.
After the string is released, success depends on a single shaft crossing the exposed bay. The figures at either end become witnesses to a line in flight: one mounted archer behind it, one rocking vessel ahead. By refusing a close heroic view, the scene turns distance, wind and moving water into the real measure of the feat.
This contemporary interpretation opens a broad field of green-blue currents beneath an aged-gold sky. Human forms recede, the red sun motif becomes a precise point of orientation, and a narrow trajectory organises the sheet. Its spacious oblique perspective deliberately breaks from the compression of the preceding image.
