Description
Abbots Bromley offers the sociable warmth of a Staffordshire village green, with its old Butter Cross giving a familiar meeting place a sunny and inviting presence at home.
Dark braced timbers form open arches beneath a tiled conical roof striped with pale ribs. Behind, a long black and white frontage carries repeated small paned windows. A cream gabled house stands at the left, where an ornate sign rises above flower pots and a short pale fence.
The Butter Cross at Abbots Bromley lets the village remain visible through its supports, making the structure feel part of the green rather than separate from it. Tree shadows spread across the near grass while warm roof tiles tie the surrounding houses together.
