Description
Acle’s arched bridge crosses a broad Norfolk waterway, its low span and green banks making a composed riverside scene in this illustrated view in this illustrated view.
The bridge sits centrally above calm blue water, with its arches reflected below. A tree-lined bank and riverside path border the left side, while a small landing and railing follow the right edge. Clouds gather over the level horizon. The water carries the view beneath the bridge and towards a quieter stretch beyond.
Acle lies among the Norfolk Broads, and the waterway gives this scene its sense of place. The bridge connects the two banks while leaving the river open for boats to pass. Visitors who know the area may recognise the gentle pace of a riverside walk, where reflections, grassy margins and the old stone span share the view.
