Description
Altandhu in Wester Ross glows above purple coastal water, its white cottages and small red cabins set against island silhouettes beneath an orange sky on the Coigach shore.
On the Coigach peninsula north of Ullapool, this coastal village faces the island studded waters of the Summer Isles. The surrounding archipelago contains around twenty islands, rocks and skerries, forming part of the Wester Ross Marine Protected Area off the mainland shore.
The Altandhu outlook descends across purple heath and grey cottage roofs towards green fields. Small red cabins stand beside a narrow road near the water. Beyond, low islands overlap against a distant line of mauve mountains, while gold reflections stretch across lavender shallows. An orange evening sky lights the upper clouds, and the flowering vegetation suggests a late summer sunset over the coast.
