Description
Ardnamurchan Peninsula in Lochaber, Highland, offers green coastal fields above a quiet blue bay, with rocky headlands and layered distant hills lending breadth to the sunlit rural view.
Extending westwards from Lochaber, this remote Highland peninsula contains Corrachadh Mòr, the westernmost point of mainland Great Britain. Its northern coast forms part of a National Scenic Area, with a varied shoreline of rocky headlands and sheltered bays facing the surrounding seas.
The Ardnamurchan Peninsula scene looks down over bright green pasture towards a curved shingle beach. A narrow stream reaches the water at the right, and a small green roofed shed stands beside a rough track. Rounded trees cast long shadows across the fields. Far hills form soft blue layers beneath cream clouds. Full foliage and clear coastal light suggest summer on the sheltered shore.
