Description
Arrochar borders Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, a village framed by wooded lower slopes and the steep Arrochar Alps where sea loch water reaches deep into Scotland's western Highlands.
At the northern end of a long sea loch, the village lies within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The surrounding mountain group belongs to the Grampians and takes its name from the settlement, creating a close meeting of coast and upland terrain.
Arrochar forms a narrow line of pale houses across blue green water. Leafy branches and grey rocks frame the near shore, opposite a long grassy hillside patterned with woodland. A distant pointed mountain retains a small white cap. Fresh green foliage and lingering summit snow suggest late spring, with cream clouds reflected faintly on the quiet surface.
