Description
Badachro in Wester Ross shelters small colourful boats beneath wooded banks, a quiet Highland harbour where a weathered dinghy and blue reflections bring the shoreline close to the viewer.
South of Gairloch, this former fishing village occupies a natural harbour on the shore of Gair Loch. Its sheltered position has made it popular with yachts, continuing a maritime association within the island dotted coastal waters of the northwestern Highlands.
A pale wooden dinghy floats beside a large golden rock at Badachro. Farther out, red, blue and white boats rest among small orange buoys, their reflections stretching into still water. Rounded trees and scattered conifers cover the opposite bank below a dark ridge. Rusty plants edge the near shore, suggesting early autumn in gentle sunshine beneath a softly clouded blue sky.
