Description
Baugh Fell in Cumbria holds a small blue pool among gold upland grass, with loose grey near stones and snow striped distant slopes under cream clouds on a bright afternoon in early spring.
This broad Pennine hill stands east of the Howgill Fells in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Its highest point reaches 678 metres at Tarn Rigg Hill. Garsdale bounds the southern side, while the River Rawthey rises on the summit plateau among small upland tarns.
Baugh Fell has a small blue pool set among rolling gold grass and dark shallow hollows. Loose grey stones fill the near slope below a broad flat topped ridge. Thin snow strips remain across the far hillside, with a narrow blue stream following the valley fold. Cream cloud banks suggest bright afternoon sunshine during an early spring thaw.
