Description
Beinn a' Chaisgein Beag in Wester Ross, Highland, offers an expansive outlook over blue pools and pale rocky knolls, with purple heath leading towards distant mountains and the open coast.
At the western edge of the Fisherfield peaks, this 682 metre hill lies within notably remote country. Its position between the higher mountain interior and the sea gives a distinctive coastal outlook, with long approaches through the open landscapes of the northwestern Highlands.
From Beinn a' Chaisgein Beag, blue lochans spread between low green ridges speckled with pale rock. Small islands interrupt the nearer pools, while the open sea forms a straight band on the far left. Purple flowering plants and grey boulders fill the descending foreground. Large cloud shadows cross the moor, suggesting late summer, with clear sunlight revealing the intricate pattern of land and water.
