Description
Beinn a' Chlachair in Highland opens across a stony grassy plateau towards steep grey faces, with a small blue pool and thin snow remnants deepening the spacious upland scene.
South of Loch Laggan near Kinloch Laggan, this Grampian mountain rises to 1,087 metres. The highest of a group of three Munros, it has a spacious upper plateau above steep sides, with a corrie cutting into the northern face.
Here Beinn a' Chlachair stretches beyond rolling yellow green foreground grass. Flat grey slabs interrupt the near ground, while a small pale loch sits beneath a broad, dark cliff line. The high right ridge catches a few narrow streaks of snow. Distant blue hills and large white clouds give the scene considerable depth. Mixed tawny grass and residual snow suggest late spring in bright mountain weather.
